    How To Prepare Yourself for the Decorating Process

  • How does the Designer charge for her time?

Our rate is an hourly fee. Overall costs will be discussed after our first meeting. Billable activities include, but not limited to consultation, measuring, accompanying subcontractors and installers, researching fabrics, trim, wallpaper, flooring, accessories, and furniture.

  • Will I receive discounts?

YES!! Our discounts range from 10% to 50% depending on the manufacturer and the quantity ordered. Appropriate discounts will be presented in writing on the proposal.

Can I accompany you to Washington Design Center?

Absolutely! We encourage you to join us so you can see the best quality of materials - and we can get a better idea of your interests and tastes. The Center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

  • What if I would like to try out a sofa or chair before purchasing?

We have various styles of furniture and seat cushions in our studio from various manufactures. We welcome you to come visit us and see them and try them out. While we may not have the exact style you are interested in, you will be able to see the quality and level detail, or try a similar seat cushion or size. We have a broad range of seat and back cushions that offer comfort and/or support.

  • What if I do not like the window treatment once it's hung?

Before we place your order, we carefully draw your design to explain how the treatment and fabrics work together. You will have a very clear understanding of the custom design. Because the work is custom it cannot be returned or refunded. We will, however, do what can be done to make the necessary alterations at a minimal cost to you should any changes be required. The same policy applies to furniture and construction.

  • What is your payment policy?

Prior to researching your project we require the signed contract and a retainer of $1000. This retainer will be held as a credit in your account file and will applied towards the final invoice. When we present our proposal, we will ask you to review it and if you are satisfied with the conditions, price, and services required to complete your project, we will then request a signature. Next we require a downpayment in order to proceed and to begin the purchasing of materials. We accept Visa, Mastercard, check or cash.
